                                                  the artisans are experimenting with
                                                  different fabrics and modern styles.
         For his efforts in reviving                  Dr Ismail Khatri’s sons and grandsons
         and encouraging the art                      continue his legacy as the eleventh
         form, Ismail Khatri was                      generation of Ajrakh block printers in
         awarded an honourary                         his family.
         doctorate degree from
         De Montfort University,
         Leicester, in 2003.




























         His work has also received a
         national merit certificate and
         a UNESCO seal of excellence.
